Agreed. I have loved reading this site and hope to see the excellent model railway when it is next in the south. I spent a few years in Heworth as a small child and we would go and watch the trains at Pelaw Junction. My Dad worked for BOC at Chester-le-Street with the trains running past just outside his office window.
Interesting photograph of the track that is being lifted. The rail head looks worn, most of the fixings to the sleepers are “elasticated spikes” whilst a couple are “Macbeth clips”
