A short video of the EM Gauge version of South Pelaw to end the month. A 9F in charge of an empty iron ore train heads towards the ECML and Gateshead (the iron ore trains took this route, rather than the Washington one, at weekends) as an oil train from Jarrow heads to Consett.

Consett steelworks was not the last business to be served by the railway at Consett, for three years after the closure, there was what was called a ‘Public Delivery Siding’ at Consett although it appears to have used only for coal deliveries.
