This update is a little different and I was going to post it before the New Year but didn’t get round to it.
As of December 1st 2015, the site had been up and running for two years and, when I initially set it up, I never imagined that, two years later, I would still be finding, and being sent, new material to publish.
I am eternally grateful to all those who have contributed photographs, documents and other information to the website over the last couple of years, without your support the site would not be the resource it has become.
The site would also not have been possible had it not been for the support of my very understanding wife Wendy who when told, ‘I’m just popping up to the line for while‘ would know full well that she’d not see me for a good few hours…
And it is because of Wendy that I’m going to go off topic for the rest of this post. In December 2014 Wendy was, out of the blue, diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour and given a year or two to live. Despite aggressive radio and chemotherapy and a spirited fight, it was not to be and she died, far too young, on 24 April 2015 just a little over four months after the diagnosis.

This time of year, I suppose, calls forth memories and nostalgia which is often very painful to deal with. Time does indeed heal but it’s important to remember that the significant things ( and we all know this!) will linger in our memories and never fade.

A good friend of mine has just lost his wife in very similar circumstances. His attitude is to remember the good times and celebrate her life and the things she enjoyed. You sound as though you feel exactly the same.
My deepest sympathies, and thoughts for you at this time of year…
